 I have been a professional photographer and writer since 1987, but I have been shooting since I was 6. I took my first dark room class when I was 9. I began writing short stories at 10. My first professional sale as a writer and photographer was when I was 16. While I have taken other jobs and learned other professions along the way, I have always continued my career as a writer and photographer. Working as a stringer and staffer for newspapers and magazines, then later as an editor, has given me solid grounding in the profession as well as the skills to succeed. Now that I'm self-employed, I'm able to pursue my passions, including engineering, on my own schedule.
