Years as an engineer working in a variety of facilities and industries has given me not only an insight on how to capture an image, but how to work safely and minimize work disruptions.

Equipment & Processes

ERW detail
IR steel pour
ERW equipment

Above: Two images of electric resistance welding at an Alabama pipe mile.  The detail image captures the raw power joining  the metal while the other image illustrates the ERW process.

Left:  Color infrared image of steel being poured into a mold at a Louisiana foundry.  Selecting special films or photo techniques can make the ordinary stand out.

Grinding

Above:  A worker carefully grinds out welds on a spiral heat exchanger.

Above right:  An ASME-certified welder joins a section for a pressure vessel.

Below right:  A worker sends a bundle of 10-inch structural tubing down the conveyor after wrapping it.  Motion blur imparts a dynamic feel as well as obscuring details, helping an image stay "timeless."
